Supper Rare Collection of Jay-Z. Jay-Z 13th and E streets NW -- 10:35 p.m.: Eric Benet is sitting right next to me. Samuel L. Jackson is singing along in one of the private boxes. Mary J. Blige is letting loose on stage and is now tearing through "You Bring Me Joy." Now she's doing her version of U2's "One." People are crying with joy. And Jay-Z went a long ways to proving his "greatest of all time" boasting in the thrilling first 30 minutes of his set backed by a 10-piece band.

Yeah, there was good reason Jay-Z's inauguration eve show at Warner Theater was one of the hottest tickets in a week of hot tickets. And we're just getting started here. It's doubtful the venerable D.C. venue has seen a party of this magnitude in some time. And now I need to get off this BlackBerry and get back to enjoying this singularly unique show.

Jay-Z blamed for low Glastonbury demand

Jay-Z Rare Collection. Listen and Downloads. Emily Eavis has stuck up for Glastonbury headline act, Jay-Z, reporting that he’s not to blame for the lower than usual demand for ticket registration. Many festival goers are allegedly non plussed by the line up, and Beyonce’s fella in particular, which also includes, The Verve, and Massive Attack. The world famous festival has been criticised in recent years for its middle aged appeal, rather than giving the kids what they want.

The organisers admit that demand is lower than usual, but that could be due to last years poor weather and muddy event. When news emerged that the demand was lower than expected at the ticket registration phase, it prompted a mass flurry by those thinking it would be easier to register.

Jay-Z to launch $100m label?

The hip-hop mogul - who recently quit his role as president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Def Jam Recordings - is reportedly asking music labels for the mammoth investment for new project Carter Music Group, but has so far seen his demands dismissed.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: 'Jay-Z is asking for way too much. He wants a label to give him $100 million for the Carter Music Group and provide for overhead, development and digital investment. It’s crazy. He wants the label to basically be his venture capital fund – but unlike a venture capital, they won’t get 50 per cent.'

A venture capital fund involves the investment of money into smaller companies, which are often thought to carry more risk.

A representative for the ’99 Problems’ rapper branded the reports nothing more than 'rumours'. Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, left Def Jam late last year amid claims he wasn’t making enough money.

Last year, Jay-Z was named the second highest earning musician in the world by business bible Forbes magazine, with annual earnings of $83 million.

His other business interests include owning a series of 40/40 sports bars across the US, and a stake in the New Jersey Nets basketball team.

Joel Madden keeping it in the family

Joel Madden doesn't think it's weird that his twin brother Benji is dating his fiancé's best friend Paris Hilton.

The Good Charlotte rocker - who has a two-month-old daughter Harlow with Nicole Richie, Paris' 'The Simple Life' co-star - says his brother's relationship with the hotel heiress is "nothing new".

Speaking at the opening of the Madden brothers' new DCMA Collective clothing store in Los Angeles, Joel said: "It's not the first time we have all hung out.

"We have obviously known Paris for a long time, and Nicole and Paris have known each other for a long time, so it's nothing new."

Meanwhile, Paris is so smitten with her new boyfriend she is going to join him on the road for Good Charlotte's tour.

She said: "We're actually leaving in a couple days for South Africa, so I'll be with him. I'm just happy to be together, so no matter where we are, we'll have a great time."

Benji, who plays guitar in the band, added: "I'd do anything Paris wanted. I'm a really easy guy to read. Everyone can tell I'm really happy. She's the most supportive girlfriend, and I try to be the same way for her."

Good Charlotte begin their tour in Johannesburg and Cape Town, before heading to Europe and then to North America in the summer to showcase their new album, 'Good Morning Revival.'

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z is on a quest to leave no stone unturned. The rap star is attempting to add to his resume with a recent real estate development venture that will spawn J Hotels, which reportedly purchased a piece of land in Chelsea.

Jay-Z teamed up with developer Abram Shnay, his son, Scott Shnay, and Charles Blaichman to iron out details for a possible high-end hotel or an art gallery building.

"It's a great piece of property adjacent to the High Line in a great neighborhood," Scott Shnay told the New York Post.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has already had an enormous amount of success in the trendy New York neighborhood with his 40/40 Club.

In addition to his prosperous business ventures, the rapper has been nominated for five Grammy awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Rihanna's hit 'Umbrella.'
